Stanislao Cobianchi founded the company in 1885 as a passionate alchemist creating his first liqueur, originally called Elisir Lungavita. The distillery operates from San Lazzaro di Savena in Bologna's province, where the original secret formula remains unchanged after nearly 140 years.
