PCS Distilling Company

Keith Hazelbaker never intended to become a distiller. A certified financial planner by trade, he was simply offering business advice to two amateur distillers in 2015. But passion has a way of becoming contagious. By 2016, Hazelbaker had purchased their fledgling operation and founded PCS Distilling Company in Louisville's NuLu district, turning what began as a consultation into a family enterprise with his sons Carson and Chase.

History & Heritage

PCS Distilling Company, also known as Prohibition Craft Spirits, established itself in Louisville's vibrant NuLu neighborhood in 2016. The distillery takes its name from the district itself, with the flagship NULU™ brand serving as both a geographic marker and a statement of local pride. What started as Hazelbaker's attempt to guide inexperienced distillers evolved into his own commitment to Kentucky whiskey production.

The Whiskey

The distillery began with a "back-to-basics" approach, initially producing vodka, gin, rum, and moonshine alongside bourbon. By 2019, PCS pivoted to focus on sourced aged bourbon with specialized finishes and blending. Their NULU™ line offers single barrel selections, blends, and various finished expressions. Notable releases include their Single Barrel Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Double Toasted Bourbon, Wheated Bourbon, and Four Grain Bourbon. The Hazelbaker whiskey line pays homage to the founder's family name.
