Hilbing Franke Distillery is a family business with a rich history in alcoholic beverage production dating back to 1870. The family's legacy began with Pablo Loos, who arrived in Argentina from Germany in 1870 and was involved in establishing the first agricultural school in Mendoza, which introduced Malbec to Argentina. Later, his son-in-law, Juan José Gaspar Hilbing, also from Germany, planted 400 hectares of Malbec and founded the 'La Alemana' winery in the late 1890s. This established the family's activity in the world of beverages.

The distillery itself was founded in 2000 by Rolando Hilbing, Argentina's first Master Distiller, and his son Walter Hilbing. Hilbing Franke Distillery is an artisanal producer known for its high-end gins, grappas, and brandies, as well as triple sec. They employ a meticulous approach to spirit-making, utilizing natural, organic, and regional products. Their production process involves German-made, 100% copper stills specifically designed for ultra-premium spirits, bi-distillation, and cryofiltration to achieve maximum purity of flavor and aromas. The entire process is carefully supervised by Rolando Hilbing, and their spirits adhere strictly to the guidelines of the "American Craft Distillers Association."

What makes Hilbing Franke Distillery distinctive is its pioneering spirit and commitment to quality. They are recognized as the only distillery in the world to incorporate the spirit of Malbec into their gin, using botanicals from Argentina, including hand-collected wild juniper from Argentinian Patagonia. The distillery has received continuous recognition for the quality of its products since 2009 at the prestigious Destillata competition in Austria, being the only distillery from South America and Argentina to have 100% of its products awarded for over a decade. Among their notable achievements, Hilbing Franke Distillery has won "Double Gold" at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in both 2023 and 2024 for its Hilbing London Dry Gin. Other acclaimed expressions include Hilbing Malbec Gin, Hilbing Pink Gin, Hilbing Old Tom Gin, The Mystery H – Brandy, and various ANIAPA Grappas.
