Penelope Bourbon has rolled out a new Classic Series, anchored by a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and a Straight Rye Whiskey.
The bourbon carries a mashbill of 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% barley malt, a recipe leaning toward sweetness and grain depth over spice. The rye counterpart rounds out the series, giving the brand a two-pronged entry into straight whiskey territory.
Calling it "Classic" sets expectations plainly. Whether it earns that name is a question for the glass, not the press release.
